Life Support Clinic /
Medical Office Building

Back to project list

This space planning study for a Medical clinic in Cle Elum, Washington is part of a larger Medical Campus envisioned for this underserved area about one hundred miles east of Seattle along Interstate 90 nestled on the eastern slopes of the Cascade Mountains. With two large resort communities planned for the area this project which has the backing of Overlake Hospital in Bellevue, Washington addresses a critical need for medical services for the burgeoning community.

The 6,000 square foot structure features Doctor Goodwell the latest medical innovation that takes advantage of internet technology to provide a virtual physician’s office that allows patients to interact with their own physicians over the Internet. The project also includes 6 general medical exam rooms, a cardiology exam room, x-ray room, Doctors’ Office and support functions. The project will also support an independent Dental Office.

The project attempts to fit within its mountain environment and be complementary to the “northwest lodge” aesthetic promoted by the adjacent resort communities. Natural materials including dry-stack ledge stone base, cedar siding, exposed heavy timbers and steeply pitched standing seam metal roofs. A port-cochere along with an enclosed vestibule allow for protection during foul weather.

Design was completed in 2004.
